Police are looking for a 55-year-old Florence man with bipolar disorder who was reported missing Saturday and believe he may be in the Upstate.

Frank Dobson “Dobby” Grossman went missing from his home on Damon Drive sometime between Friday night and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said the mental health activist’s family is worried he may not have taken his medication.

Grossman called someone in Columbia at 4 p.m. Saturday, but no one in his family has heard from him, which is unusual.

Grossman took his wife’s company car, from the company Conway Development of SC Inc., when he left. The car is a 2006 silver, 4-door Buick Lucerne, with S.C. license plate 776 UUM.

Grossman is described as a slightly balding white man with hazel eyes who stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call your local law enforcement agency.
