NAACP Brings Voting Concerns To County Council
Election Day was filled with long lines and frustrations for many of you, but there were also complaints about voter intimidation, particularly from the african-american community.
Last night, the NAACP hosted a town hall forum in Spartanburg County Council chambers.
The group voiced concerns to county leaders, in hopes that problems aren’t repeated in future elections.
County Councilman Michael Brown told us, “I think…voters outside of just this group as a whole… they are concerned.. .they want to make sure the election process is one of fairness… one that goes smoothly.“
County election leaders have already begun planning a number of steps they believe will make the next election run smoother.
