Friday 4:32 p.m. Update
Ninety-two warrants of ill treatment of animals have been issued each for Wade and Faith Patterson, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.  The couple was adopting dogs from the county shelter and bringing them home to be part of their “rescue group.“

Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies seized 177 dogs, one cat and one bird from a local residence during an investigation of a maltreatment of animals complaint.

On Wednesday, November 18, investigators responded to the Bagwell Road location and executed a search warrant to inspect the grounds.  Upon arrival, they discovered several dog carcasses on the property, along with numerous malnourished dogs and dogs living in inhumane conditions.

Ona Bagwell says she heard barking coming from her neighbor’s home, but had no idea so many animals were living there.  “I can’t believe it why in the world would they want all of them?“  she said.

Deputies say there was a related complaint, against 36 year old Faith Patterson.  Patterson is the estranged spouse of an Anderson Public Safety employee.  At that point, the sheriff’s office was asked to conduct the investigation.

Faith Patterson declined to speak to News Channel 7, but did say she didn’t understand why her animals were taken away from her.
The animals were seized and taken to the Animal Shelter for safekeeping and thorough examinations.
No charges have been filed.  Investigators say they will pursue charges once a veterinarian examines each animal.

Deputies are trying to determine the person or persons responsible for the feeding and boarding of the animals.

Anderson County Animal Shelter is in need of puppy food to help nurse the sick dogs back to health.  If you like to donate, just stop by their office at 615 Highway 28 Bypass in Anderson.

I adopted a Black Lab puppy about two month’s ago from the Anderson County Animal Shelter. There is not enough room here to go into the details but it was very difficult. Everyone I had contact with there was a complete and total idiot with the exception of one girl, I believe her name was Kelli. Kelli (blonde) was very helpfull and genuinely concerned about my adoption. The rest of the staff acted as though I was imposing on them.

Time…I would go to the sherrif’s office and beg them to help me find out if my dogs were among those taken to the shelter….it might not help but it would be worth a try if they were mine. I would also call wspa news, problem solvers. I would keep the telephone HOT until I found my dogs…two questions though….why did you give them away to begin with? And would you take them back if they found them?

Please Please !!!!I neded your help in to locate my dogs. These dogs were given to Wade and Faith Patterson because I was lead to belief this was a good Resue Home by the Anderson County Animal Shelter and because he (Wade) was a animal control officer. Little did I know what they did to these animals. If the dogs are in a good home I am good with that. I just need to know they are being cared for. They are huskies both female white/black name is Chelsa and a red one name is Channey. They could be in Bevard NC that is what Wade told me. If anyone can help please let me know. MY husband did go to the Shelter today they would not will tell us anything. Please help if you know something. I will read the comments looking for a answer.

If you have ever watched the program ANIMAL MIRACLES you will get a true picture of just how special animals are and just how beneficial they are to humans. They can bring some healing to aging folks with aching bones, they can releave depression, and it goes on and on.  God uses them to love us….how can we throw that gift back into HIS face?  Shame on whoever does that!!

I didn’t look but that is probably her. Operating under the title of rescue group. No rules or regulations…open to abuse. Not to belittle ALL rescue groups by any means, but sometimes they are as bad as the puppy mills. They take in more animals than they can care for and want to charge an enormous price to anyone who is willing to adopt one. Therefore very few are adopted and their money runs out and the animals suffer. The animal shelters do the same thing, they charge so much that not many are adopted, after all you can always find someone needing to find a home for a dog or cat for free. Few people are willing to pay for one. At least the animal shelters put them to sleep instead of letting them starve, horrible as that is! I have found homes for several litters of kittens this year (not my own) by placing ads in the newspaper…always overwhelmed with calls..you can find homes…good inside homes…for animals if you give them away instead of trying to make a buck off them.

I wonder if they were tied up or just running loose…SURELY they did not have them in their house! I have heard of such though…either way, you are right pw, there is no excuse for not feeding and watering them. If they couldn’t buy them food they should have given them to someone who could.

Makes you wonder if this was a case of
good deeds overwhelming her OR was someone running a puppy mill?  All those poor babies…...

Whoever did this obviously was not doing it for the animals otherwise they woudl have fed them, taken care of them,  and treated them better.  I do not understand why anyone could have a heart to cause these innocent animals such suffering. This person or persons should be made to do without food and water and see how it feels to starve.  Pets should be treated with love and kindness for they give so much back to their owners…they love unconditonally.
