Firefighters in Anderson County battled a house fire on LeMans Drive. Investigators said a man escaped the flames around 10:30 p.m Wednesday. When they arrived, the home was engulfed in smoke and flames.
The man is expected to survive.
Fire Investigator Ken Blakely says It is an accidental fire. The man fell asleep on his couch while smoking and the cigarette ignited the fire.
