Anderson Emergency Management Director Taylor Jones says the 911 center for Anderson County went down shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday.  The system was rolled over to Abbeville County as part of the county’s disaster recovery plan.  Staff was sent to the Emergency Operations Center in Anderson County and now calls are being routed there.  911 service should be working without interruption for Anderson County residents.  If you experience a problem please call 260-4444 but only if you have a problem when you dial 911.

Jones says the problem is within their phone system.  Technicians are headed in to fix the problem.
