SUPPLY, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 33-year-old North Carolina man died while taking a motorcycle on a test-drive.

Multiple media outlets report that Joseph Cross of Supply died Friday afternoon when a sport utility vehicle turned in front of him. He was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Brunswick County Deputy Coroner David Crocker says Cross was driving the motorcycle to consider buying it.

State Highway Patrol Sgt. C.K. Parks says 51-year-old Dorothea Hewett of Supply failed to yield the right of way while turning left into her driveway.
