A York County Sheriff’s Office cruiser caught fire on I-85 near the BMW plant, according to Tony Ivey with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.  The deputy was driving along the highway when he noticed smoke coming from the vehicle.  He pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and radioed for the fire department and any unit nearby with a fire extinguisher.  No one was hurt, but the vehicle had extensive damage.  The deputy was patrolling I-85, participating in the Rolling Thunder operation.
