Man Charged With Hanging Gaffney Child By Shirt

(Gaffney) Police say a man hung a six year old boy by his shirt to a pole on Saturday.
46 year old Vernon Leverett was charged with assault and battery.
Adriene Jamison says Leverett hung her grandson on the carport railing of a home on Popular Springs Drive. She says the boy told her Leverette left him daggling to go inside the home to get a camera. “He was hanging by his shirt. He said he was trying to keep up on his tiptoes so he could breathe,“ Jamison said.
Jamison says two neighborhood children saw her grandson dangling and helped him down when Leverett went inside the home. “He has asthma. He probably would have had an asthma attack. He could have possibly died,“ she said.
Vernon Leverett bonded out of jail Sunday. He did not comment on the allegations.

Felix, were you raised in the moutnains of NC? To me the Smokey Mountainis are the most beautiful place on earth. I have been to the ROCKIES and they are majestic but not as beautiful as the SMOKIES. I hope you are enjoying living in SC. SC is lovely too…we have the mountains, the beaches ( NC does too of course) and other areas that are very beautiful and most of our people are very friendly and kind. Not all are the same.
