Seneca police chief John Covington says the baby’s biological father, 22 year old Matthew Taylor Hinton is charged with homicide by child abuse.
Brianna R. Bright died in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Greenville Memorial Hospital.
The Seneca Police Department began the investigation on Sunday night after this child was discovered not breathing by her father.
The child was resuscitated by EMS and taken to the Oconee Medical Center emergency department where she was stabilized and transferred to Greenville.
The autopsy was performed Thursday at the AnMed Medical Center morgue.
The autopsy showed that Brianna died from a closed head injury as a result of blunt force trauma.

What is happening to this world? How could any human abuse a baby? esp the father.. Everytime i watch the news something is happening with a child.. i have 3 boys under the age of 5 and i myself is only 21. I have def wanted to runaway a few times but it never crossed my mind to harm them.. there are so many good people that cant have babies that would kill for one and and look at the people that should be thankful of them what they do.. i know its mean to say but i believe he is guily following the evidence but i hope he is served life and that he never sleeps a minute again. I could not imagine being the mother.. i just pray for the family. no one should have to leave here the was that precious baby girl did.. My son was in the nicu for the first few weeks of his life and i wasnt even sure if he was going to make it .. they are so innocant and precious.. i just can not see how someone could do such a thing.. that baby didnt ask to be here and she would of loved her daddy more than anyone in this world ever would and look what he did.. wow.. i am so heartbroken about the way kids are being treated there def needs to be stricter laws against child abuse and parents should have to have requirements before they have children that really sounds awful but it is really what this world has come to.. i leave this message VERY heartbroken and confused..people love your kids and be thankful anything can happen!
btw…felix…i remember your from yesterday…u called me rude…i was very upset by the situation my dear close friend has been put in…as far as this case goes, I don’t know cause I am not close to this man and his family…but I am close to Ronnie and his family. i am very sorry for the ALL CAPS comments i made yesterday, but…Ronnie is in the same situation…some one (who is not a good person to begin with) has pointed their finger at my friend (just because of his history). All the reports about Ronnie and his history are not accurate and have been relayed to the public…to make him out to be a monster, before he can even see a judge for a bond hearing…muchless have a fair and impartial jury IF this ever even goes to trial!
In the end the truth shall set u free and I am hoping that the investigators in his case do a thourough investigation!! If they do…he will be proven innocent! BUT the public will still have a skewed view of him and his character for the rest of his life…it just ain’t right!

Society is not craking, it is in little pieces spread all around the ground. The devil is on the lose. There are too few good men to confront this monster or choose to join him. felix…this was my quote…“these people do not lead two lives, but are painted to the public to be monsters and bad people before they have ever been tried for their crime or even found gulity!“ never said the media has called anyone a monster…but makes them out to be the monster because of the crime the have been accused of, further more slandering their name…before they can recieve a fair trial. just because u are arrested for something never means u are guilty…and I thought…in America…you were supposed to be innocent until proven guilty by a jury of peers…thats what “freedom” and “being an American” is all about!
You could never know what it is like…unless you are in their shoes…like i said before…all someone has to do, is go down to the police station and say you did something…then the judge will issue a warrent…you will be arrested…then the media will plaster your name and face everywhere for others to believe what they hear on the news…the media doesn’t hafta call anyone a monster…society does that for them!!!

u are absolutely correct pwilliams…when the truth sets u free…the society still holds u guilty, and ur peers still only remember the bad things said about you! I hate it for anyone in that situation…and know several people who have has to go to jail, bail out, hire a lawyer, and it affects your whole life…all for nothing!! this man and anyone else accused of a horrible crime will always be guilty in the publics eyes as long as the media paints that picture!
The thing that gets me is when they are proven innocent it is not broadcast as much if at all to clear the person’s name. That is a shame!

I believe the media can do more dammage than good to people and their lives…these people do not lead two lives, but are painted to the public to be monsters and bad people before they have ever been tried for their crime or even found gulity! it should be against the law! all it takes in the state of south carolina, is for someone to point their finger at you and the police will come get u arrest u and take u to jail…no questions asked. guilty or not. i totally believe the police here want to look good by arresting someone and holing them accountable for a crime so that someone is locked up for it…before they even investigate the situation. i too am in this situation…a very dear close friend of mine has been arrested and accused of a terrible crime…which there is no proof…i hope that in the end the truth comes out and the police investigate within the best of their ability…people don’t realise that everyday…someone is wrongly accused and convicted of crimes that they really didn’t do..and the real criminal is still walking the streets. the media makes these people out to be monsters because of the crime they are accused of before they are tried and convicted…dont u think this would affect any jury that may be picked from our county?? if the person was blasted on the news and the details are sketchy…they are guilty before they can even get a trial!!
i believe people are innocent until proven guilty…isnt that how our judicial system is supposed to be?? this poor baby could have rolled outta bed and hit her head…or this man could have done this…i myself will reseve judgement untill he is proven guilty by a jury of his peers!
