Nearly a dozen Union County pastors organized a prayer service Wednesday evening at the Union County Courthouse.
The prayer event featured music and area pastors speaking for a short time, as well as a time of prayer for the county.
The event was organized in response to the recent events, involving former and current public officials being indicted and/or resigning.
The pastors we spoke to say, residents need some positive events, to shift focus from the negative.
Some of the pastors involved in the program were: Shep Bevis, of New Life Baptist; Tommy Bailey, of Duncan Acres United Methodist; Robert Alexander, of First Presbyterian; Robert Emory, of First Baptist; Benny Greene of Mon Aetna Baptist; and Robert Chapman, of Tabernacle Baptist.

Yes this is where we all need to begin with God alone! He alone can and will fix the current crisis in Union! He will direct the right leaders to come forth and take a positive stand for our county. Praise you the people who joined together to try to make a difference!
I hope it works.
I have only one response for this sad situation in Union:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.2nd Chronicles 7:14
My prayers go with you pastors in union for taking a stand for God.People need to realize that if this country has a chance it has to begin with God.May the Lord bless you and your families.
well thank GOD someone is finally looking to him to answer the problems in this world… bout time
From the looks of things Spartanburg needs to follow Union’s lead and see if we can’t get some divine intervention to reduce the stabbings, murders and child abuse.
pwilliams, you are exactly right! A lot of work has to be done, but that’s where to start. There’s good people in that town and good things going on…and it’s too bad only the bad stuff makes the news.
At least Union knows where to begin and who to look too to straighten out their town.
