The South Carolina Supreme Court will hear an appeal Wednesday for a man covicted of killing two law officers. Authorities said 42-year-old Steven Bixby got angry over an expansion of the road in front of his family’s home in Abbeville County in 2003.
Next investigators said Bixby and his father ambushed Sergeant Danny Wilson and Constable Donnie Outz. Bixby’s father was found not competent to stand trial and has been indefinitely committed to a mental institution.
Bixby’s mother is serving a life sentence for helping to plan the ambush.
