The Spartanburg County Assessor’s Office told NewsChannel 7, “Wings Real Estate LLC”, which is the company that operates the business at 111 W Main St, known as Wild Wing Cafe, failed to pay taxes for 10 months this year.

The records show, the company owed $39,751.23 on January 15th of 2008. They failed to pay anything until October 29th, 2008. Tax officials fined the company $6000 dollars. On the 29th, they paid a total of $45,713.91.

NewsChannel 7 was first to report on Wild Wing Cafe’s financial troubles, after employees reported not being paid. Something the parent company of the Wild Wing chain that used to own the Spartanburg location confirmed.

“Wings Over America” also confirmed the owners of the restaurant were trying to sell the location.

The owners, have refused to comment further on the status of their operation. However, they did say employees were recently paid.

Wednesday, customers heading to Wild Wing Cafe were told there was a water problem, and the restaurant would be closed. Then a sign was posted on the front door saying repairs were taking place.

Spartanburg Water says that no water outages were reported from Wild Wings or in the area.

More developments in this story are expected in the coming days. Count On 7 to follow them.

MORE CROOKED BUSINESS OWNERS!!!!...and we wonder why more and more jobs are going to Mexico…for the cheap labor and a better chance of NOT getting caught ripping off the employees….and to get away from the EXCELLENT press at WSPA!!!!So sorry to see the place close, but it’s for the better, they would only raise the prices to support somebody’s BAAAAD habit!!!

i’m sad to see this happen. but it is not the companys fault, the people who bought it from the company mismanaged the money, it’s their fault.

I cannot believe this is happening to another great restaurant, we really enjoyed going there and the food was great. We have saw this happen to so many in Spartanburg, its a shame. This is why so many people go to greenville.

                Disappointed
