Spartanburg Deputies Say Husband Attacks, Injuries Wife at Home

Randall Scott Garland has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and kidnapping.
A woman was attacked by her husband until the point that her head went through the wall of their home according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Randall Scott Garland has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and kidnapping. He is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Deputies say they were called to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center late Sunday night and spoke to the victim. Garland became increasingly violent during an argument according to SCSO Public Information Office Tony Ivey.
Garland push and slapped his wife and threw objects in the home during the confrontation. Ivey says the husband pushed his wife against a wall by the throat and eventually used a pillow over her face until she passed out.
The victim later went to the downstairs of the home where investigators say Garland began to ram the woman against a wall until her head went through the wall.
The victim’s daughter eventually took her to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Lord, help us all! Why would you let someone out on bail after you arrest them for something like this? I don’t get that. Let him stay in jail until justice can be doled out. How can the family be assured something else won’t happen between now and the court date?
