Spartanburg Murder Suspect Arrested In Columbia

A man accused of fatally shooting a man outside a Spartanburg convenience store was arrested in Columbia Tuesday.

Spartanburg Public Safety said that 24-year old Dadrin Jerome Johnson, of Spartanburg, was arrested and charged with murder and breach of peace of an aggravated nature. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnson at his mother’s home in Columbia, according to Public Safety officials.

Johnson was transported back to Spartanburg early Tuesday evening.

Last Friday, 24-year old Adrian Edwards was shot and killed outside the Quick Stop convenience store at 496 S. Church Street. An investigation into the accident showed that Edwards was shot multiple times by a man on a moped, who police say was Johnson. Edwards was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital where he later died.

One day later, Public Safety officers arrested 23-year old Brandon Tanner Robbs and charged him with murder. Authorities say that surveillance video shows that Robbs gave Johnson the moped before the murder. He is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center without bond

Johnson is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center. Johnson is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
