Clemson Police have made three arrests in what they say have been a series of thefts in the Crestwood area.

Police have charged Jason Nathaniel Smith, 17, of Clemson, Christopher Shane Riggins, 17, of Pickens and Michael Benjamin Newton of Central after receiving calls on October 23.

A resident in that area called just before 10:00 p.m. on Friday and police say they were notified of other thefts.

Smith is charged with first degree burglary, four counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, possession of controlled substance and manufacturing marijuana.

Riggins and Newton are both charged with first degree burglary, four counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and grand larceny by Clemson Police.

Officers say they recovered stolen items at a home on Crestwood Drive.
