A Spartanburg School District Seven teacher will be part of a TV panel of educators who will talk about the state’s education budget crisis.

Stephanie Seay, a first-grade teacher at Houston Elementary School in Spartanburg District Seven and the 2006 State Teacher of the Year, will take part in South Carolina ETV’s live broadcast of In Our Schools.

The live special airs Sunday night from 6:00pm-7:00pm on SCETV.

A panel of classroom teachers will join State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex to review the current budget crisis that’s affecting public schools and what can be done to improve the situation.

“We have short-term challenges and long-term challenges,“ Rex said in a written release. “Schools obviously need help in weathering the current crisis, and we should provide that help whenever and wherever we can.“
