Obama went to the Capitol to deliver a pre-inauguration threat—if lawmakers don’t approve the second half of the $700 billion financial rescue package, he’ll use his first veto to make sure he gets the money.

Donations help NC school band play at inauguration

The Charlotte Observer reports the Harding University High School marching band has raised $75,000 for the trip to Washington. Band members and parents have worked for the past month to raise $50,000.
