Campaign 2008: Passing Time In Line

Many voters waited in line for hours Tuesday before they could cast a ballot.  But many came prepared to pass the time and make the wait a little more bearable.  Despite the long wait, the majority of voters were in good spirits, determined to make their votes count in this historic election.

Some voters brought a book to read.  Others brought games or listened to i-Pods.  Some voters who knew they might have to wait three or four hours brought chairs so they did not have to spend all that time on their feet.

Many voters brought their children along, so they could have a front-row seat to history.
