COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - White House hopeful Ralph Nader is talking up the shortcomings of the candidates that are sure to beat him in November.
His campaign says he’ll address issues that major party candidates aren’t talking about at a Statehouse stop in Columbia Friday.
Nader wants a national health care plan styled after Canada’s, minimum wage increases and a national energy policy that doesn’t include nuclear power.
Nader expects to be on South Carolina’s ballot as a petition candidate. The campaign turned in 17,500 signatures a couple of weeks ago. Election Commission spokesman Chrisl Whitmire says 1,500 have been checked so far and 957 are from valid, active voters.
