Governor Signs Unemployment Benefits Extension
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanfort signed into law Senate bill 374, Thursday, which extends benefits to the unemployed under the stimulus act. The bill passed with unanimous, bipartisan support and was made necessary by an oversight at the Employment Security Commission (ESC).

New Report Ranks SC Near Bottom in Graduation Rate
A new report by the Southern Regional Education Board ranks South Carolina near the bottom of the nation on graduation rates and says half the state’s high schools are “dropout factories”.
