Dick Schomer’s son Tom lives and works in Kuwait. So when Tom needed to wire $725 to his children back in the states he and Dick signed up with Revolution Money Exchange…it’s a company that does transfers for free on the Internet.

“It was supposed to take 2-3 days,“ said Schomer.

Those 2-3 days turned into weeks.. When Schomer called for help he said he told them…

“In your contract it says 2-3 days and they said being such a large amount it takes longer,“ said Schomer. “But on their policies it says you can wire up to $1000 a day.“

He says the empty promises to resolve his issue continued call after call.

“I’d call them every day just about everyday sometimes 2 and 3 times a day and I couldn’t seem to get anywhere with them,“ said Schomer. “They said they have to verify the source where the money came from.“

In the meantime he fronted the money his grandkids needed.

“It was frustrating,“ said Schomer. “I’ve got high blood pressure and everything and my blood pressure just shot up something terrible.“

The good news is our contact with Revolution Money Exchange via e-mail got him his money in two days. We tried to get them to explain the holdup but they wouldn’t comment citing “privacy reasons”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Schomer was so fed up with all the hassles he decided to cancel his account. And the next time he wants to send or receive money…he’ll stick to the old fashioned way.

“I think it would be safer to send it by mail believe me,“ said Schomer.
