The House Judiciary Committee Chairman plans to send an impeachment resolution on Governor Mark Sanford to the full Judiciary Committee by Christmas.

received a resolution to impeach Gov. Mark Sanford because of his
June rendezvous with an Argentine lover.

    COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina lawmakers will not consider
a move to impeach Republican Gov. Mark Sanford anytime soon.
    House Speaker Bobby Harrell on Tuesday turned aside an
impeachment resolution brought by another Republican. He says
lawmakers can only deal with a limited number of items in their
abbreviated session this week. They came back to Columbia
specifically to deal with unemployment benefits.
    Harrell said state Rep. Greg Delleney can file the resolution
next month in advance of the regular legislative session starting
in January.
    Delleney, a Republican from Chester, says Sanford should lose
his job for skipping the state for five days in June to rendezvous
with his Argentine lover.
