BMW is expanding it’s operations in the Upstate.  A new paint shop and assembly facility are part of the 750 million dollar project.

BMW Group announced a decrease in vehicle deliveries in February that was down by 24 percent from the previous year.

With U.S. automakers like GM reporting they will run out of money next year and Ford and Chrysler also reporting loses it seems the auto industry may be next in line for some help from the Treasury.

LSP Automotive Systems, a maker of metal and assemblies for the automotive industry, supplies parts to BMW. The company announced Thursday it will expand it operations in Union County.

USC’s Moore School of Business looked at the number of jobs created and the economic impact on the state of the BMW plant in Greer. The plant means $8.8 billion a year to the state’s economy.
