Governor Bev Perdue says everyone in North Carolina should get prepared for flu season, and she’s starting with her office.

Gov. Mark Sanford meets with his Cabinet this afternoon and his spokesman says the governor will discuss the week in which he left the state and confessed to having an affair with a woman in Argentina.

Sanford spokesman Joel Sawyer said the week’s tumultuous events are on the agenda for the Cabinet meeting Friday. State business also is to be discussed.

The remarks were picked up by an open microphone Tuesday at a meeting of the National Governors Association in Philadelphia. Some construed them as sexist.

At a news conference Monday in Chicago, Obama announced that he’s chosen Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to lead the State Department.
