Governor Mark Sanford signed an incentives package Friday that clears the way for Boeing to build a new factory in North Charleston. The 787 Dreamliner will be produced in the Lowcountry, adding thousands of jobs.

The Upstate Workforce Investment Board and Spartanburg Community College are partnering to offer a manufacturing course they say manufacturing employers are looking for.

BMW announced plans to hire 700 temporary workers for the plant in Greer. The jobs have pay starting at $13 an hour.

BMW is adding two more production shifts at their plant in Greer. To support these additional shifts, BMW’s contract agencies, MAU, Inc and Tier One Solutions will be hiring up to 700 workers. 

Thousands of new jobs to open up in Cherokee County.

  Spartanburg Area Regional Transit Agency (SPARTA) will be hosting a fair to help the unemployed on Friday October 9th. The goal of this event is to provide resources for those in Spartanburg who are searching for employment or want to further their education.

Red Venture LLC will move their operations to South Carolina according to Governor Sanford’s Office. The announcement touts 1,000 “new, high-paying jobs” for Lancaster County.
