Greer Police say a man was kidnapped outside of El Mariachi and held for ransom until he jumped – or was thrown, officers aren’t sure – out of the car deputies were pursuing.

After deliberating Tuesday, questions from the jury kept them from returning a verdict until Wednesday. The defendant, Shazjuan Shabazz, was found guilty of kidnapping a woman and raping her. He was acquitted on two other charges.

An Anderson man says he was carjacked, kidnapped and beaten by ten attackers early Thursday morning after returning from a grocery store.

The coroner has ruled a woman’s death a homicide after authorities say she jumped from a car because she was afraid for her life.The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says Jack Davenport attempted to kidnap the woman and one other person Monday evening.

The sheriff’s office told us that Olivar Roblero, 36, attempted to grab 9-year-old Alex Fullbright.
