Friends of SC governor’s wife speak on affair

Associated Press releases new picture of Governor Sanford’s Mistress Maria Belen Chapur.

Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer said Monday he would be open to a scenario in which he would assume the governorship but not run for the state’s top office in 2010 if Governor Mark Sanford decides to resign in the coming weeks.

The Nation newspaper in Buenos Aires, Argentina has identified Gov. Mark Sanford’s mistress as 43-year-old Maria Belen Chapur.
