A man charged with murdering his girlfriend in Laurens County was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday.

Authorities said 42-year-old Steven Bixby got angry over an expansion of the road in front of his family’s home in Abbeville County in 2003.

Roger Eugene Shephard has been sentenced to life without parole. The solicitor promised the Canadian government he would not seek the death penalty.

A jury is now deciding whether to sentence to death a man convicted of killing a television anchorwoman from the Greenville area.

The woman who ordered her husband to prove his love for her by killing a high school student was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.

Walking around the former Superbike Motorsports building last month was one of the most erie experiences I’ve had in the news business.

It was my first trip to Superbike.  I had gotten permission from the current owner to do an interview inside with Senior Investigator William Gary of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s office.

It was a long ride up Parris Bridge Road.  Superbike was in the middle of nowhere.  That was probably good for a business that generated a lot of noise with the revving of engines.
