Orionid Meteor Shower Peaks Oct. 21st

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

The Orionid Meteor Shower will peak Tuesday night into early Wednesday, and 10-20 meteors every hour will be possible.  With little moonlight around and clear skies in the forecast, it should be good viewing for those willing to stay up late enough (or get up early enough!)  The best time to start viewing is around 2 AM.  Look to the East and Southeast about halfway up into the sky.  This meteor shower isn’t as full as the well-known Perseid Meteor Shower is, but if you see streaks in the skies, you’ll now know what they are!
