The Last Baby Blog (Most Likely)

» 5 Comments | Post a Comment

It’s hard to believe that the day is almost here.  Well, I guess now it could come any day - the official due date for our second baby girl is August 25th - so only about 10 days away (and counting).  If you’ve been reading the previous pregnancy posts, you probably know that it’s been a longer haul in a few ways than it was with Kathryn.  Couldn’t eat any fried foods for the last 6 months, milder nausea but it lasted well into the 2nd trimester unlike last time.  And you can’t forget that ‘ole summer heat!  That combined with not being able to walk Pepper everyday has made it tougher for me to get around.  Thank goodness for Wilma, our receptionist at the station, who hasn’t told anyone that I’ve been using the elevator so much!!  (Although as fast as I walk sometimes she tells me I might as well take the stairs!)  I don’t think I used it once last time around, but that’s okay.  Of course, Wilma has also kept a stash of chocolate she’s given me access to!  Sometime chocolate just solves most of life’s problems!!  Thanks, Wilma!

One recent problem was that I found that even my maternity clothes weren’t fitting anymore!!  Thank goodness I was able to find a few more items that would carry me through the last several weeks of being on air.  We don’t really like to wear short sleeves, but when you’re hot all the time and the choices are almost exclusively short sleeves, you take a second look at the old rule of long sleeves only and decide to change that rule temporarily!

Of course I’ve been very conscious of blocking the weather maps.  Early on it sounds like a joke, but by the ninth month - I actually DO block a few states when I turn to the side!!  So I appreciate everyone’s patience as you’ve watched me expand - some of you in high definition.

I appreciate all the comments as well.  Some of the more popular comments are:  “You look like you’re about to pop!“  ... and “ Are you sure you’re not having twins?“ ... and “ When are you due?“ (August 25th)  “Well, I’m not sure you’re going to make it!“  You can rest assured that I feel like I’m about to pop!  The reporters will probably be glad when I have the baby - sometimes that’s a popular topic (see above questions).  So not only do they have to keep up with their story, but they ‘ve often confirmed the facts about when I’m due, what I’m having, etc, so they know some of the answers to the above questions when they’re out in the field!  (Thanks, guys!)

This is probably the last ‘baby blog’ that you’ll read from me (ever) - but I may post again if nothing’s happened early next week to give you a quick update.  Thanks for visiting this blog - talk to you soon!

We would love it if you would post a picture of the new little one so we can all see. Was it a boy or girl and what’s the bundle of joys name?

Christy,
Please, have that baby, I can’t take the stress much longer. I have been concerned that you would explode before you have that baby. When you stand to the sied of the weather map all you can see is your hands and the baby package on the TV and I have a 32” TV. You look great but, I am too old to worry about you. I tell my wife every night that you are going to pop if you don’t have that baby. I went through the same thing when Judy was having our son. What stress,
Go girl, you look great! just hurry for me.
