My fellow James Bond fans, we’ll have to wait an extra week to see his return to the big screen. Agent 007 will fill in the gap in the November schedule, vacated by fellow British icon Harry Potter.

Variety reports Friday Sony Pictures has moved the release of Quantum of Solace in the U.S. Back a week to November 14. The trade paper reports Sony expects to get a better ride at the box office with Bond filling in the gap left open when the next Harry Potter movie was delayed until July.

The strategy makes sense. You have a huge opening weekend on November 14. One week later Bond is still going strong at the box office for weekend number two. Then you have the Thanksgiving holiday extended weekend, that has theatres filling up starting Wednesday afternoon.
