Dr. Strangelove is on the clock. Watch before Monday or it’s DELETE.

The fall TV season is about to begin and my DVR has too many shows and movies just sitting there taking up room.

I really did have every intention of getting to these movies during the summer months, but with new shows having their premieres in the coming days and weeks I don’t want to deal with the clutter.

I still have about 65% of my recording space left, but what needs to be kept and what can I send to the delete afterlife?

Live Free or Die Hard
I recorded this during a free HBO preview weekend. I loved the first one and really dug the second Diehard. The third version with Samuel L. Jackson had me wanting to forget that sequel and watch the original again. I did catch a scene where Bruce Willis jumps off the back of an F-16 fighter jet (after the pilot ejected) and lived. That’s not too promising.

Verdict: If I don’t watch it by Monday it’s DELETE.

The Bourne Ultimatum
Another free HBO weekend offering. I’m not a huge fan of the Bourne movies. I’ve seen them all on TV and not at the theatre, but I do like them when I watch them. It’s only been on the recorder for a few days.

Verdict: KEEP

Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
One of the great movies with Peter Sellers and directed by Stanley Kubrick. I just love when Sellers yells “there’s no fighting in the war room.“ However, I recorded this film off Turner Classic Movies. They run Strangelove about once a month.

Verdict: DELETE

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Concert
This is one my daughter taped. She saw it in the theatre twice and has watched it a good 3-4 times at home. Oh, she has the CD too.

Verdict: KEEP (if I hit DELTE, I’ll have to deal with the wrath of a 7-year old)

The Cheetah Girls One World and The Disney Channel Games

Verdict: KEEP (see above entry)

World Trade Center
I recorded this during a free HBO weekend in September. Of last year. I’m recording about three hours of 9/11 programming from The History Channel on Thursday. I’m going to watch this movie eventually.

Verdict: KEEP

Monk (2 episodes)
I love Monk. It’s funny and it’s what my wife calls brain candy. However, at this point having two Monk episodes is one too many.

Verdict: Read the episode guide and DELETE what sounds like the weaker hour.

I think those moves might get me to 70% remaining recording capacity. I wonder if I can free up some space by killing out a few episodes of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody?“

Yeah, negotiating with a seven-year old is going to be tough.
