Looking For Your Green Ideas

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

We have officially launched News Channel 7’s Go Green/Save Green Initiative and the response has been great! Last Friday, we showed you ways to cut down on energy and save money by switching from bottled water to regular tap water. I would like to hear some of your comments on that story and any other ideas I can pass along.

This week, we will be focusing on how to improve your gas mileage. I found some really cool steps to take without even having to own a hybrid. Our Go Green stories air every Friday evening at 5:30 and again Saturday mornings at 8. If you have ideas for stories about quick and easy ways to save some cash while saving the environment at the same time, email me at . Also, check out our cool new web page about going green here.

In the next few weeks, I will have stories about water heaters, pools and pool covers and going green in the bathroom!

See ya soon.

Hey, Don’t know if this is more of a “Go Green” thing or a drought thing.  Several years ago, I planted what became a much-adored flower bed.  I babied it, and it was doing extremely well.  Of course, there was a drought and water restrictions.  We were no longer allowed to water our lawns & plants in Wellford, which is where I lived at the time.  I wasn’t going to let it die, so I started bathing in oatmeal soap (I checked to make sure it was organic) and then recycling my bath water to water my plants.  Good for the skin & the plants & made the neighbors jealous till I told them why my plants were still alive.
