Student Resource Officers Gather in Anderson County for Training

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to sit in on a training session hosted by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office for Student Resources Officers (19) from around the state.  Just before I arrived, the Sheriff told me they had been listening to the 911 tapes from Columbine.  While I was there, they talked about gangs in school - how to recognize them and how to handle them.  Most of officers said they are seeing more gang activity from boys than girls. 

What are the biggest problems you think SRO’s face in your school?  Gangs?  Drugs? Disobendience?
