The Atlantic Coast Conference says tickets for the mens basketball tournament will go on public sale Monday, for the first time since 1966.
The ACC reports the large number of seats available at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and the recession have freed up tickets for the 56th annual tournament.
“Having already sold more tickets to this year’s tournament than the capacity of any of our other venues, our schools felt it would be appropriate to offer the remaining tickets to college basketball fans in the Atlanta area,“ said ACC Commissioner John Swofford in a written release.
All remaining tickets available for purchase are upper deck seats and are priced at $363 for an 11-game tournament book.
Tickets will be sold starting Monday March 2 by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (404) 249-6400 or 1(800) 326-4000 or by accessing their internet site.
Thursday and Friday’s two sessions are scheduled to start at noon and 7:00 pm, while Saturday’s semifinal games session has a 1:30 pm starting time. Sunday’s championship game will tip off at 1:00 pm.
