Clemson senior Ben Martin finished runner-up Sunday afternoon in the championship match of the U.S. Amateur at Southern Hills Country Club.  Martin was defeated 7 & 5 by Byeong-Hun An, who at age 17 became the youngest winner in the history of the prestigious amateur event.

Former Clemson All-American Lucas Glover won the 2009 United States Open on Monday at the par 70 Black Course at Bethpage Golf Club in Farmingdale, NY with a final round 73 and 72-hole score of four-under par 276. Glover finished two shots ahead of Phil Mickelson, David Duval and Ricky Barnes to become the first former Clemson golfer to win a Major tournament.

Ford Wins National Title in 60M Dash

Two-sport standout Jacoby Ford earned his first national championship in track & field on Saturday, claiming the 60m dash to lead Clemson on the final day of competition.  His crown is Clemson’s second in the event in the last three years, as former teammate Travis Padgett won the NCAA title in 2007.  Ford is the ninth individual NCAA indoor champion in men’s track & field history at Clemson.
