CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson first baseman Ben Paulsen has
agreed to terms with the Colorado Rockies, giving up his senior
season in college.
The National League team announced the agreement this week. The
Rockies selected Paulsen in the third round of last month’s Major
League Baseball draft.
    Paulsen led Clemson with a .367 average, 95 hits, 18 doubles, 13
home runs and 61 RBIs. He was a three-year starter with the Tigers
and leaves school with 31 career homers.
Paulsen is the son of Clemson assistant Tom Riginios and helped
the team return to the NCAA tournament and advance to the Super
Regional, where the Tigers lost to Arizona State.
