USC sophomore defensive back C.C. Whitlock has been cleared of trespassing charges by a Fairfield County Magistrate.

Magistrate E.G. Palmer ruled that Whitlock was not guilty of trespassing as a result of an incident last month at a night club in Fairfield County.

Whitlock, a Chester native who’s had various issues since arriving at South Carolina, is currently suspended from the team and there was no word as of Wednesday afternoon from head coach Steve Spurrier on his potential reinstatement.

Meanwhile, Bamberg-Ehrhardt center A.J. Cann has verbally committed to the Gamecocks.

Cann is listed as the number two player at his position nationally by one recruiting service.
