1) Stay informed on changing weather if you are under a watch. Conditions may change rapidly from sunny to stormy sometimes giving little warning when serious weather forms.
2) If a tornado warning is issued, go to the lowest floor of your house and to a room that's away from windows.
3) Take a pillow, blanket, bike helmet if you have one to protect your head and wait for the storm to pass
4) Don't waste time opening windows...just get to your saferoom
5) If you live in a mobile home, leave it to get to a building that is able to withstand damaging thunderstorm winds.
