MEN ONLY for mammograms @ Mary Black!

It’s hard to imagine - especially in this economy, with a GIANT NEW “Breast Center” right across town, that a “for profit” healthcare provider like Mary Black Healthcare System denies treatment because the patient requests that her scheduled mammogram be handled by a woman. 

As in years past, I scheduled my mammogram @ Mary Black - I originally chose MB because in their department my tests could be conducted by females.  I’ve received great care there, so naturally I opted to schedule with them again this year - even though a state of the art Breast Center just opened minutes from my home. 

Apparently, Mary Black Healthcare System no longer employs radiologists - they now rely on a Greenville Hospital System Group made up of only men. 

Really, is it too much to ask that this very female procedure be carried out by another woman with breasts of her own?  And to be told that the hospital is only thinking of the “patient’s needs” - OH REALLY, do they really think that makes any sense at all? 

Seems pretty clear, their “for profit” goal overshadows their “patient care” or “patient needs” objective…

Hoping for SERIOUS Healthcare Reform, SOON - it’s time for healthcare to be about taking care of patients again, and NOT about the almighty dollar, and malpractice/fear driven patient “care”!
