SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Drew Gibson's 3-pointer with four
seconds left lifted Wofford to a 66-65 victory over North
Carolina-Greensboro Saturday night.
UNC Greensboro (3-4, 0-1 Southern Conference) rallied from a
one-point deficit and took an eight-point lead with less than three
minutes to play, but scored just five points in the final five
minutes.
Gibson made it a one-point game with a layup with 25.1 seconds
left. The Spartans got the ball to Dwayne Johnson, who was fouled
and made one of two free throws with 11.3 seconds left. Gibson's
3-pointer from the left wing put the Terriers ahead to stay.
Shane Nichols led Wofford (4-2, 1-0) with 20 points, and Gibson
added 17 points. Noah Dahlman had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
