Celebrated Clemson freshman defensive end Da'Quan Bowers will be the back-up at defensive end behind returnee Kevin Alexander in Saturday night's opener against Alabama.
Bowers, who was dominant in Clemson's spring game, will certainly get his opportunity to shine against the Crimson Tide. Tigers head coach Tommy Bowden notes that he'll get at least 50 per cent of the snaps.
A battle continues for the punting duties between returning starter Jimmy Maners, redshirt sophomore Richard Jackson, and true freshman Dawson Zimmerman.
