COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Lele Hardy had 17 points and nine rebounds
to help Clemson spoil the home coaching debut of South Carolina's
Dawn Staley with a 52-45 victory on Wednesday night.
Hardy also had seven steals to give the Lady Tigers (2-1) their
first victory over rival South Carolina (0-2) in four seasons.
April Parker and Whitney Hood had 10 points apiece for Clemson.
The Lady Tigers opened a 27-10 lead in the first half and then
held off South Carolina the rest of the way.
Lauren Falohun had 10 points and was the Gamecocks' only
double-digit scorer.
Staley took over in May and lost her opening game at Penn State
this past Sunday.
