Clemson tight end Brian Linthicum will transfer, it was announced Tuesday morning by Tigers head coach Tommy Bowden.
The sophomore, who was not in attendance for Saturday's win against The Citadel, cites a lack of playing time, according to the coach. He's been released from his scholarship but Bowden does not know what school or schools Linthicum is targeting as his next stop.
As a freshman, the New Mexico native, whose family now resides in Virginia, caught three touchdown passes and entered this season listed as one of the starting tight ends on the depth chart.
