Tigers coach endorses his QB, offensive coordinator
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Clemson coach Tommy Bowden says he's as
disappointed with the Tigers' loss Saturday as many of the 80,000
or so who watched in person.
But he said Monday his job is to go back to work and correct
mistakes before Clemson's next game Oct. 9 at No. 25 Wake Forest.
The Tigers gave up a 17-6 halftime lead in losing to Maryland
20-17. There were loud boos from the Death Valley crowd as Bowden
and the players ran off the field.
Bowden says he still has confidence in offensive coordinator Rob
Spence and his play-calling. Bowden also said he wasn't considering
a change at quarterback. Senior Cullen Harper has not lived up to
preseason billing as the favorite for Atlantic Coast Conference
player of the year.
