USC basketball coach Darin Horn released the following statement Thursday night regarding a report saying he had contact with officials at Xavier University regrarding their head coach's opening.
"I don't get involved in rumor mills that are out there however, contrary to published reports, I have not spoken to any other
schools nor am I looking to. I am proud of what we accomplished this season and am excited about the future of South
Carolina basketball. I can't wait to get to workouts with our players tomorrow and continue recruiting this spring," Horn said.
The State newspaper reported earlier Thursday that Horn has talked with Xavier about it head coaching vacancy but couldn't clarify to what extent Horn is interested in the job.
Horn just completed his first sesaon in Columbia posting a 21-win season and berth in the N.I.T.
Horn's contract calls for him to pay a $1.25 million dollar buyout if he leaves early.
