Gamecocks improve to 6-7 in SEC
South Carolina scored nine runs in the first two innings and held off Ole Miss, 12-10, Friday night in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Gamecocks improve to 22-11 on the season and 6-7 in the SEC.
A five-run first inning was keyed by Jackie Bradley's two-run single and Justin Dalles' sixth home run of the season, a three-run blast.
Dalles added his fourth RBI on the night in the second as part of a four-run outburst. He finished with three hits in four trips to the plate.
Sophomore centerfielder Witt Merrifield went five-for-six with three runs scored.
Gamecocks starter Sam Dyson improved to 5-2 pitching five-and-two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (five earned runs) while striking out six.
Clemson's home game with Miami was rained-out Friday night. The Tigers and Hurricanes play a doubleheader Saturday at 3:30pm.
