Spartanburg High School will appeal the South Carolina High School League's latest realignment plan that has them moving from Region 2-4A to Region 3-4A beginning in the fall of 2010.

Vikings athletic director Myles Wilson says an appeal will be filed prior to Friday's deadline. Wilson said specifics of the appeal are still being worked on.

The SCHSL's two-year realignment, released earlier this month, currently has SHS moving into a region with Gaffney and other Rock Hill area schools and away from traditional rivals Dorman, Byrnes, and Boiling Springs.
