B. Springs Coach Hopes To Be Ready For Season Opener

Boiling Springs football coach Bruce Clark is recovering from recent surgery that left him without feeling in his extremities.

Boiling Springs head football coach Bruce Clark said Sunday he hopes to be ready for the Bulldogs' season opener August 28th after recent neck surgery left him without feeling in his arms and legs.

Clark's son tells the Spartanburg Herald-Journal that his dad has begun rehabilitation at a facility in the Atlanta area.

Clark is entering his second season at Boiling Springs after guiding the team to one of its better finishes in 2008 at 8-4, a run that included a first-ever win against Spartanburg.

The Bulldogs are ineligible for the playoffs this season after being placed on probation by the South Carolina High School League for using an ineligible player during spring practice, a mistake Clark admits was his fault for misinterpreting the rules.
