CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson's Charles Warren will be the
school's first golfer to receive one of the Tigers' highest awards
- induction into the Ring of Honor.
The school said Friday that the PGA Tour pro would have his name
put up along the facing on the stands at Death Valley, an honor
given to some of Clemson's top athletic standouts.
Warren became Clemson's only golfer to win an NCAA individual
championship in 1997.
Others inducted have been the late Banks McFadden, considered by
many the school's best-ever athlete; former football coach Frank
Howard; and the 1981 national championship Tiger football team.
The ceremony for Warren is scheduled for Nov. 21 when the Tigers
face Virginia at Memorial Stadium.
